2018: Closing one door, reopening another
This year, Nice Threads as an online and market sales entity selling materials and tools and teaching classes will end. My studio space is smaller now, and storing all that wool takes up space! I also will not be at the Black Mountain Tailgate Market, and that is for health reasons, not because I didn't love being there and talking fiber every Saturday morning! (There's a good chance I will show up anyway with a chair and a spindle on nice Saturday mornings. )
What I will be returning to is felting, full-time. I will be in the Southern Highland Craft Guild shows, and their Holiday Show again, showing felted garments and accessories. I am also putting together a line of items for wholesale, and will post more news of that as I get back to work. I currently have felted coasters and ice-dyed scarves at the shop Chiffarobe in Black Mountain, and will be looking for new shops for other goods.
I still have lots of yarns, spinning wool and a few other leftovers from the market, so check out the online store for mark-downs through this spring and I'll bring everything left to the Anything Fiber Sale in June for a final clearance.
Speaking of Anything Fiber, I will have much less to do with it beginning this year, its 10th year, as Local Cloth has taken it over. I'm looking forward to it continuing in their care for another 10 years. Be sure to Like the Anything Fiber Sale Facebook page to get the updates in your news feed, or get on the mailing list at Local Cloth.
Change is inevitable, and while it's sad to close that door on one opportunity, there's always another knocking!
